Called the final instalment of a surprisingly successful series, "The Equalizer 3" has exceeded expectations and expects to finish the weekend with $35 million in revenue over the traditional three days, which could increase to an estimated $43 million over the extended Labor Day weekend.
That result is poised to become the second-biggest Labour Day debut ever, behind only the $94 million collected by "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" a couple of years ago.

"The Equalizer 3" earned $13 million on Friday and $3.8 million from Thursday's previews. Each film in this trilogy was directed by Antoine Fuqua, who is best known for his work with Denzel Washington in "Training Day." The first film, "The Equalizer," which was released nearly 10 years ago in 2014, earned $101 million in the U.S. and $192 million worldwide. "The Equalizer 2" came out four years later and earned roughly the same amount - $102 million in the U.S. and $190 million worldwide.
