Disney is investing $60 billion in theme parks and ramping up intrigue around Disneyland's expansion of Black Panther World

Vice President of Disney Parks Experiences and Products, Josh D'Amaro, has hinted at a possible expansion of Black Panther-themed attractions at one of the company's parks.

Here's What We Know

It was reported this week that Disney plans to invest $60 billion in parks over the next decade. As part of this strategic plan, the company intends to fully leverage brands and franchises to create new attractions. One of the sought-after additions at Disneyland is the Avengers Campus. Given the popularity of Black Panther in the Marvel world, the idea of bringing Wakanda to life in attractions seems very lucrative.

"Imagine bringing Wakanda to life", D'Amaro stated. "In terms of bringing the latest Disney-Marvel-Pixar intellectual property to the parks, we haven't come close to scratching the surface. And we have learned that incorporating Disney I.P. increases the return on investment significantly."

With this major investment, Disney is strengthening its position in Disneyland and Walt Disney World parks across the planet. Part of the strategy is to make greater use of intellectual property for future projects.

DisneylandForward was recently announced, accompanied by concept sketches of Black Panther-themed attractions. Disney's initiative to partner with the city of Anaheim to expand the parks has generated enthusiasm among many fans. This initiative involves increasing the size of the company's park in the California city. While there is no official decision, it is clear that Disney is looking at Disneyland California Adventure and Disneyland parks as potential locations for Wakanda attractions if an expansion can be achieved.

Disney also stated:

"We are at the very early stages of this effort with the city, and this multiyear process will include many opportunities for public involvement."
