Worry No More: James Gunn has confirmed the current list of DC characters that will not be reimagined
Following the scandal of Henry Cavill's replacement as Superman, director James Gunn has released a list of DC characters who will not be affected by such changes in the new reimagined universe. At least for now...
Here's What We Know
The director, as before, is active on social media and interacting with fans in the comments. The other day, Gunn made another post on Threads, which briefly, but informatively, noted the names of actors who will return to their roles and will not be replaced.
According to the producer's account, Xolo Mariduena will remain as Blue Beetle, Viola Davis will retain her role as Emanda Waller, and John Cena will continue in his role as Peacekeeper.
David Corenswet is also confirmed to be the new Clark Kent/Superman, while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan will take on the role of Lois Lane.
Meanwhile, characters Lex Luthor, Perry White and Jimmy Olsen will definitely get changes, but no actors have been officially announced yet. There are also plans to reimagine the Batman character, but since the script isn't ready yet, it will take some time before any concrete information comes out.
That's it according to official information, but let's not forget the rumours. For example, Jason Momoa has previously stated that he will no longer play Aquaman, but will join James Gunn's new DC universe as Lobo.
It's the same story with the return of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It would seem that a Wonder Woman reimagining is likely given the cancellation of a sequel after Wonder Woman 3, but the actress claims that James Gunn and Peter Safran have assured her that another Wonder Woman film featuring her will be made.
