Kevin Costner has returned to the director's chair for the first time since 2003's "Open Range" for the two-part western "Horizon: An American Saga". A teaser trailer was released today, starring Costner in the title role. Also, wrote the screenplay.

After the beloved series Yellowstone (starring Costner) released the first half of its final season in late 2022, there's been no word on a second instalment. But do not despair, as now fans of westerns are waiting for a new project Costner where he put all his soul.

"Horizon: An American Saga" is said to be Costner's passion project, which he has been working on for years. It is reported that he even left Yellowstone to focus all his attention on this film. Costner wrote the screenplay for the film along with Jon Baird.

"Horizon: An American Saga" will reveal the story of pioneers in the American West over a fifteen year period. Viewers can expect episodes where settlers face tough choices amidst uncertainty and the backdrop of the Civil War. According to the official synopsis, the films will explore "the lure of the Old West and how it was conquered - and lost - through the blood, sweat and tears of many."

Ostensibly, the story of the conquest of the American West will be what it should be: a majestic epic saga that preserves the spirit of the old days.

The teaser provided basic information about the film's release dates and cast. And, of course, it focused on Kevin Costner as a real cowboy riding a horse and firing a shotgun on the prairie in the distance.
