Trailer we won't be seeing just yet: The first trailer for House of the Dragon's Season 2 was shown at a private event, and the series is set for release in the summer of 2024
The Season 2 of House of the Dragon will be released in the summer of 2024 on HBO, and the trailer was already shown at a private event.
Here's What We Know
This news was confirmed at a press conference in New York City, according to Variety. Unfortunately, the trailer was shown exclusively for journalists and there are no details yet on what was shown in the clip.
Filming for the show's second season has already wrapped. Such promptness is due to the fact that the series, unlike most other shows, was filmed even during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The script was written before the strikes began, and the cast of House of the Dragon was represented by the Equity UK union, which was not involved in the strikes.
The second season will develop the Targaryen story, which is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood. It will continue the narrative after the events that dramatically ended the first season. As a reminder, the first season finale ended with the moment when Raynera learnt of the death of her son Luceris at the hands of his uncle Emond.
Returning to their roles will be Emma D'Arcy as Raynera, Matt Smith as Damon, Eve Best as Reynice, Olivia Cooke as Alicent, Rhys Ifans as Otto and Fabien Frankel as Royal Guard member Ser Christon Cole.
Also joining the cast are Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Freddie Fox as Ser Guane Hightower and Gayle Rankin as Alice Rivers.
