Looks like we have a busy time ahead with premieres: Actors' strike is over - SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP have reached a tentative deal
Hollywood will be the same again. Today, SAG-AFTRA finally approved an agreement to end the 118-day strike that began in July.
Here's What We Know
A deal was reached just after midnight today, Thursday 9 November, between the actors' guild and the studios represented by AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) that will bring the strike to an end after a unanimous vote.
According to Variety, the agreement calls for a 7% increase in most minimums, which is 2% more than the Writers Guild received when their strike ended last month.
Further details on how the deal will affect the main sticking point in the negotiations - the use of artificial intelligence - have not yet been revealed. The agreement will now go to the union's national council on Friday.
All of this is sure to be a landmark moment, which in turn implies that projects and promotions that have been put on hold will soon be resumed. So, we're all looking forward to the return of good old Hollywood.
