Marvel delays 'Blade' with Mahershala Ali by another nine months - the film won't be out until 2025 now
This is the third time this year that Disney has changed the release dates of its films. This has affected the highly anticipated "Blade" reboot from Marvel Studios starring Mahershala Ali in the title role.
Here's What We Know
As a reminder, "Blade" was originally scheduled for release on 3 November 2023. However, after the departure of director Bassam Tariq, the relaunch of 'Blade' was postponed once again, to 6 September 2024. And when the writers and actors went on strike in May, Marvel Studios had to suspend work on the film altogether.
The production process was complex, involving no less than six writers, including Bassam Tariq, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, known for her work on HBO's Watchmen, Beau DeMayo, the writer of Marvel's Moon Knight and X-Men '97, Michael Starrbury, the creator of the script of the series "When They See Us", Nic Pizzolato, the author of the script of the popular series "True Detective", as well as Michael Green, known for his work on the script of the film "Logan". It is known that Michael Green has been brought in to completely rework the "Blade" script from scratch.
When We Can Expect It
Disney has now announced that "Blade" will be pushed back nine months: from 14 February 2025 to 7 November 2025.
