Netflix has announced that an anime series will be based on James Cameron's iconic Terminator film, under the direction of Japanese studio Production I.G
The cult sci-fi film "Terminator" by James Cameron will be animated in a new TV series. The anime is being developed by Japanese studio Production I.G., known for its work on "Ghost in the Shell".
Here's What We Know
The Terminator franchise got its start in 1984, with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the role of an assassin sent back in time to destroy Sarah Connor. The film was so popular that it spawned numerous sequels, a television series, comic books, novels and video games, and now an animated series.
The animated remake currently has a "working" title of "Terminator: The Anime Series". The series will introduce new characters over the course of eight episodes. As of now, we only have a brief description from Netflix with a teaser where the slogan appears "There is no fate".
The plot promises fascinating time shifts as a soldier from 2022 travels to 1997 to change the course of events and the fate of humanity.

The project will be directed by Matt Tomlin, who expressed his excitement on Twitter: "I feel extraordinarily fortunate to be able to make art that is personally important to me, has something to say, but also connects to some of the biggest franchises in the world that dazzled my imagination as a kid."
