A new international trailer for "Aquaman 2" has been released, offering fresh footage and a look at the level of special effects
We're just a month away from the premiere of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 film, and a new international trailer presents previously unreleased scenes from the upcoming story of the King of the Seven Seas, as well as giving us a glimpse of the level of special effects we're in for.
Here's What We Know
As a reminder, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be the last film in the current version of DC, with James Gunn and Peter Safran working on a reimagining of the universe.
Unfortunately, it took James Wan a full five years to bring Aquaman back to the screen and that long delay has, alas, resulted in the film's premiere coinciding with the end of an era for the franchise. This means that Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry will be the last time we see him, although the actor may return to DC playing a new character.
The new international version features fresh action scenes, epic underwater clashes and a deeper investigation into the relationship between Orm and Arthur, which is central to the plot of this latest chapter. The clip also shows Patrick Wilson's character being exposed to the Black Trident, a weapon that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta has obtained and plans to use to exact revenge on Aquaman. The villain seeks to destroy everything his enemy holds dear, which forces Arthur to go in search of his half-brother to save Atlantis together.
When We Can Expect It
"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" will be released in cinemas on December 21, 2023.
