"The audacious filmmaking of Robert Eggers is always a gift for fans, and we can promise that his Nosferatu is planning quite the Christmas feast" Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement released by Deadline.
The Plot
"Nosferatu" from Robert Eggers, is inspired by the 1922 silent film of the same name. The film will tell the story of a passionate bond between a young woman suffering from persecution and a diabolical vampire possessed by her, leading to a slew of indescribable horrors.
Starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult and Lily-Rose Depp in the lead roles. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Simon McBurney will play supporting roles, joined by Eggers Ralph Ineson and Willem Dafoe.
Previously, Holt shared in an interview with Inside Total Film podcas that Eggers had dreamed of making Nosferatu since he was eight years old. It was his dream and passion. Once, the director even directed a play based on the story in high school. Well, we may be in for something truly great.
When We Can Expect It
"Nosferatu" will be released on December 25, 2024.
