Daniel Brooks, star of Peacemaker, will reportedly join Jason Momoa in a film based on Minecraft
Peacemaker's Danielle Brooks is joining Jason Momoa in the Minecraft video game adaptation from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess.
Here's What We Know
This information was published by Deadline, adding that Just Mercy's Sebastian Eugene Hansen will also be joining the Minecraft team.
While details of the film's plot are being kept under tight wraps for now, it has been revealed that Brooks will get the role of Dawn and Hansen will play the character of Henry. These artists will join the already announced Jason Momoa and Matt Berry from What We Do in the Shadows.
In addition to the new cast picks, the report also claims that Minecraft filming is scheduled to begin by the end of this month in New Zealand, once the cast strikes are officially over.
Film studio Warner Bros. announced its intention to screen the beloved game almost a decade ago, in 2014, but production has been continuously delayed for various reasons.
Note that the sandbox video game developed by Mojang in 2011 became the most successful game in history and still holds the record for sales.
The film, which is a co-production between Vertigo, Legendary, Mojang/Microsoft, and On the Roam, is being produced by Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Todd Hallowell, and Brian Mendoza.
