Several sources have reported that Wednesday and Scream VI star Jenna Ortega is considering an offer to play one of the lead roles in Taika Waititi's adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's 2021 sci-fi novel.

Klara and the Sun is reportedly in development at Sony 3000 Pictures, with Dahvi Waller writing the original script.

The project will bring together a stellar team with Taiki Waititi, Garrett Basch and David Heyman heading up production for Heyday Films. Ishiguro himself will serve as executive producer, ensuring that his vision is reflected in the cinematic interpretation.
