"Top Gun 3" is reportedly in development - Tom Cruise will be back, of course
Puck News has reported that a third Top Gun film is in development, with Tom Cruise likely to return alongside "Top Gun: Maverick" co-stars Miles Teller and Glen Powell.
Here's What We Know
According to recent information, the script is currently being developed by Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger, with Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison serving as producers. The director is also likely to remain the same, with Joseph Kosinski returning.
Note that Paramount Pictures has yet to officially confirm the development of the film, but it is speculated that "Top Gun "3 could be Tom Cruise's next film after the upcoming "Mission: Impossible 8".
This news comes shortly after it was revealed that Cruise has signed a deal to work with Warner Bros. Discovery, where he will work with the studio's chairmen and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy to develop original and franchise films.
Here's What The Movie Is About
The plot of the film is being kept secret for now, but in light of the brilliant success of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, many have begun to speculate that a third instalment could be in development. Kosinski has previously hinted that Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, played by Cruise, has another story to tell.
