David Fincher's thriller "The Game" will be the basis for a new TV series
The Game, the cult 80's thriller directed by David Fincher, is set to become a TV series thanks to the writer and producer of the Scream saga, Kevin Williamson.
Here's What We Know
According to Deadline, Williamson just closed a major deal with Universal Television to develop several TV projects for the studio, including a remake of Fincher's film. The deal also includes a series adaptation of Rear Window, the legendary 1954 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and The It Girl, based on the 2022 novel by Ruth Ware.
Here's What The Movie Is About
The original "The Game" tells the story of Nicholas Van Orton, an important and powerful businessman who has an extremely controlled and, to many, boring life. At least that's how his brother, Conrad, who is the complete opposite of him, sees it. For Nicholas' birthday, Conrad decides to give him an unusual gift - an experience provided by a mysterious entertainment company. What Nicholas doesn't know is that this game will test him like nothing else before, making him believe that he is losing everything he has achieved over the years and even the life of the person he values most.
The film stars Michael Douglas, Sean Penn and Deborah Kara Unger in the lead roles.
When We Can Expect It
The Game series has not yet been given a release date.
