Lies of P won three awards at the Webby Awards 2024, beating out Baldurʼs Gate 3
The winners of the annual Webby Awards in more than a hundred categories havebeen announced, but we will pay attention only to games.
Here's What We Know
The Webby Awards, sometimes referred to as the "Internet Oscars," determines the winner by a vote of the members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). But for the honour of being nominated, entrants must pay a monetary fee, which is why the Webby Awards are often criticised, as it can give the impression that it's not the best projects that win, but those who are willing to pay.
In the video game category, the action game Lies of P from Korean studio Neowiz won the most awards. The dark interpretation of the tale of Pinocchio won in three categories: Action and Adventure, Best Art Direction and Best Music/Sound Design.
Baldurʼs Gate 3 came in second place as the winner in the Best Game Design and Best Independent Developer Project categories.
