The MacBook Air with the M3 chip has gained support for dual external displays, but there's a catch
Apple unveiled the updated MacBook Air on 4 March. As it turned out, the laptop besides a new chip and support for Wi-Fi 6E got one more feature.
Here's What We Know
According to Apple, MacBook Air with the M3 processor on board supports the connection of one external display with a resolution of 6K and a refresh rate of 60 Hz, as well as two monitors with a resolution of 5K and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. But there is one nuance. When connecting two screens, the lid of the notebook must be closed. That is, you will have to use an additional keyboard and trackpad to work with the device.
FYI the new M3 MacBook Air only supports 2 external displays with the lid CLOSED. Weirdly, if you open the laptop to use the keyboard/trackpad, it turns off one of the external displays
