Now you can customise the way Bing chatbot replies

The company has added a new feature to its Bing chatbot - you can now switch between three different tones of responses. They include Creative, Balanced, and Precise modes.

Creative mode provides answers that are logical, original and creative, while Precise mode prioritises accuracy and relevance for more factual and concise answers. Balanced mode is enabled by default, which the company hopes will strike a balance between creative and precise answers. The new answer modes are available to all Bing AI users.

Apart from being convenient, this functionality has another important purpose - to "extinguish wild outbursts" that we could see in Bing AI before. Microsoft has already added a bunch of restrictions on responses after screenshots of rude or incorrect answers from the bot started circulating on Twitter and Reddit. Of course, some users started to experience errors when working with the bot, for example, when it simply did not respond or refused to answer questions, so the company has loosened control a bit in the update.
