Microsoft opens access to Loop, a competitor to Notion

Microsoft has released Microsoft Loop, a collaboration hub that offers a new way to work with Office documents and manage tasks and projects.

Here's What We Know

Microsoft Loop contains workspaces and pages where you can import and organise tasks, projects, and documents. But unlike other similar apps, Loop lets you turn any page into a real-time block of content that you can copy and paste into Teams, Word, Whiteboard, or anywhere else on the web.

Components in Loop are constantly updated and can be shared for collaborative editing. And it doesn't matter where the editing happens: if you share a block of content from Loop in Teams and someone makes changes, they'll be reflected in your Loop app.

When you create a workspace, Loop will even search for any relevant Office documents you've been working on, making it easy to add the ones you need to organise your project. You can use the "/" command to add labels, images, emoticons, tables, and more right inside the pages where you're typing. The "@" label allows you to link suggested files or tag colleagues or friends.

Microsoft Loop so far supports up to 50 people working together on a document - and the company has done a lot of testing to verify the tool's performance under such loads, but still, normal use suggests a team of 12 people.
