Microsoft adds feature to Edge to block automatic video playback
Microsoft has added the ability to block automatic video playback to its Edge browser. It is now available for testers on the Canary channel, where it has added to the list of existing resolution settings and video playback restrictions.
Here's What We Know
The Edge development team says it has "heard your requests for strictly blocking automatic media playback" after adding the ability to block playback based on whether you've visited the page before and how you've interacted with it. A more limited blocking option is currently being rolled out.
If you don't like to wait for new features, you can try to make it appear now. According to Neowin, in order to do this, you need to enable the checkbox at "edge://flags/#edge-autoplay-user-setting-block-option", after which the corresponding option will appear in the settings of the stable version of Edge.
