Iran has mastered the technology to produce a new generation of supersonic cruise missiles
Iranian military scientists have reported that they have managed to master the technology that allows them to launch the production of supersonic cruise missiles. The missile itself has already been created and is now being tested.
Here's What We Know
Existing Iranian cruise missiles are equipped with a rocket engine for launch and a turbojet propulsion system called Tolu' for the second stage. The new straight-through air-jet engine allows supersonic speed (more than 343 m/s) and has an increased efficiency.
More information about the new development is not yet available. In addition, it is not reported where Iran managed to get the new technology. It is possible that Russia played a role in this against the background of Iran's possible refusal to buy Russian Su-35 fighters.
