Motorola Edge+ (2023) - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 165Hz OLED display, 60MP selfie camera and IP68 at $800
Motorola has unveiled the flagship Edge+ smartphone (2023). The model is virtually the same as the Edge 40 Pro, but will only be sold in Canada and the US.
Here's What We Know
The Motorola Edge+ (2023) gets an OLED display with 165Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The panel has a Full HD+ resolution, 6.67" diagonal and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The smartphone is based on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with Adreno 740 graphics and up to 3.2GHz. The novelty is only available in one modification. The RAM is 8GB and the internal storage capacity is 512GB.
The Motorola Edge+ (2023) is equipped with a 50 MP + 50 MP + 12 MP and 60 MP main and front cameras respectively. Both can shoot video in 4K UHD at 60 FPS. The main camera has got support for 8K@30FPS.
The flagship is equipped with a 5100mAh battery. Alas, the fast charging capacity is 68W instead of 125W. It also gets stereo speakers, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and a fingerprint scanner built into the display. The casing has IP68 water protection.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Motorola Edge+ (2023) will be available in Canada on April 19 at CA$1300 ($955). Sales in the US will start on May 25 and will be priced at $800. The new flagship has an Android 13 operating system and will receive three software updates, i.e. up to Android 16.
To conclude, let's add that the original Motorola Edge 40 Pro debuted in Europe early last month. It's available in a 12/256GB variant with 125W charging and a 4,600mAh battery at €899 ($990).
