It's not just budget smartphones that are on fire: a user has had his 2020 flagship OnePlus 8 Pro explode
Unfortunately, cases of smartphone explosions and spontaneous combustion are not uncommon, but they often happen to cheaper devices. However, a user recently had a former OnePlus flagship, the top 2020 gadget, the OnePlus 8 Pro, burn up.
Here's What We Know
The user revealed the fire of his smartphone on the Reddit forum and social media. He even showed a video taken right after the incident - showing the device still smoking.
@OnePlus_IN @OnePlus_Support Absolutely horrible support from you, my OnePlus 8 Pro's battery explodes when idle(not charging) and you are denying any responsibility stating there was "pressure on Motherboard". pic.twitter.com/BCdCcR7flE

According to the man, the smartphone was lying next to it on the bed at the time. Fortunately, the user himself was not injured. The gadget, on the other hand, was almost completely destroyed. Interestingly, the smartphone was in standby mode and not even charging.
The owner of OnePlus 8 Pro contacted the company's support team and was told that the cause of the spontaneous combustion was "pressure on the motherboard". However, he believes these findings are unsubstantiated and insists on a more thorough investigation.
