US HIMARS missile system destroyed a launcher for Russian Lancet kamikaze drones

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have destroyed the Lancet kamikaze drone launcher. It was liquidated together with the vehicle used for transport.

It was possible to destroy the launcher thanks to the American highly mobile artillery rocket system HIMARS. The impact of a GMLRS precision-guided munition with a range of up to 80 kilometres turned the launcher and the transport vehicle into debris. It is not specified whether the kamikaze drones themselves were there.

"Lancet" is a development of the Russian company ZALA. Kamikaze drone strikes can be corrected by a reconnaissance UAV from the same company. Recently, the Ukrainian Defence Forces managed to shoot down one such drone.

Kamikaze UAVs cause a lot of problems for the Ukrainian army. "Lancet" is available in two versions, which differ in size, weight of the warhead and launch range. The more powerful version can reach speeds of up to 300 km/h and fly for 40 minutes. The range is up to 70 kilometres.
