Ukraine's SHARK drone helped destroy Buk-M3 SAM launchers and clear the way for JDAM-ER bombs that hit Russian headquarters
A Ukrainian-made SHARK reconnaissance drone helped destroy two launchers of the Russian Buk-M3 air defence system. This allowed the use of JDAM-ER bombs.
Here's What We Know
The 9A317M launchers were located in Svitlodarsk, Donetsk region. They provided sky defence over the headquarters of Russian troops. The SHARK drone detected the launchers and aimed fire at them.
After destroying two important components of the Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a strike on the headquarters. JDAM-ER smart bombs were used for this purpose. They have a maximum launch range of about 75 kilometres.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the SHARK drone helps to destroy Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile systems. Recently, five components of the air defence system were hit at once
