Ukrainian FPV drone flew a record distance and hit Russian artillery system Hyacinth-S
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have hit a Russian 2S5 Hyacinth-S self-propelled gun. In this battle, the kamikaze drone set a record.
Here's What We Know
The Ukrainian Defence Forces have been using disposable FPV drones for a very long time. They can target infantry, control points, air defence systems, infantry fighting vehicles and even tanks.
One of the limitations of FPV drones is range. They usually fly at a range of less than 10 kilometres. However, the drone that hit the Russian cannon was able to fly 17.4 kilometres, setting a new record.
The achievement was conquered by the fighters of the 72-brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The previous record was set by the Immaterium unit a few months ago. Then FPV drone flew 9 km and destroyed a Russian surveillance tower.
