Two days ago, the re-announcement of the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 took took place.
The game was announced back in 2019, but the studio Hardsuit Labs failed to cope with its creation, because of which the project was transferred to the developers from The Chinese Room - the authors of the famous games Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.
Digital Trends journalists interviewed the vice-president of Paradox Interactive Sean Greaney about the future of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
Here's What We Know
From the conversation with Sean Greaney it became known:
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is created on the modern engine Unreal Engine 5, although previous developers used its fourth version;
- The Chinese Room developers did not abandon all the developments of Hardsuit Labs, so the work on the game is not done from scratch, but it is noted that the new team has its own vision of the game and they have abandoned many of the ideas of their predecessors;
- finally, Paradox publishing house came to a consensus on the vision of the project with the developers of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (mainly because of disagreement with the game concept they had to part with Hardsuit Labs) and now there is confidence that there will be no more postponements of the release;
- the project has already passed the alpha stage and the pace of work will increase significantly;
- in January the developers promise to show the gameplay of the reimagined vampire RPG.
When We Can Expect It
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is expected to release in autumn 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
