There will be no clash of horrors: the developers of Alone in the Dark have moved the game's release to early 2024 due to competition from Alan Wake 2
Publisher THQ Nordic and studio Pieces Interactive announced the news, which can both please and upset gamers at the same time.
Here's What We Know
Relaunch of Alone in the Dark series was planned for October 25, 2023, but the game will not be released on this day.
The developers announced that they decided to postpone the release of the game. They explained their decision by saying that October is too rich in high-profile releases and they don't want so much competition.
This is most likely the right decision, as regardless of the quality of Alone in the Dark, the game could have been lost against the backdrop of Alan Wake 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Lords of the Fallen and Ghostrunner 2.
Horror games thrive on the eerie embrace of solitude, something that is impossible to achieve in a gaming month as busy as October.
