Insider Gaming explained why you shouldn't believe the "rumours" that GTA 6 will weigh 750 GB and take 400 hours to complete

The Insider Gaming portal, which often shares true rumours and one of the authors is the well-known insider Tom Henderson, has released a publication explaining the whole situation around the GTA 6 rumours and why it is better not to believe them.

Here's What We Know

The author, Grant Taylor-Hill, explained that the best thing to do in the situation with rumours about the new GTA is to stay calm and evaluate the news that gets into the information space, and some of the videos that "demonstrate" the gameplay of GTA 6 are actually a modified version of GTA 5.

Recently, rumours have become very popular that GTA 6 will weigh 750 GB and that it will take "at least" 400 hours to complete the story. And it is quite surprising that some gamers started to believe it. For example, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have about 800 GB of storage (if you don't expand the memory yourself). So does this mean that we have to delete absolutely everything from the console (photos and videos too) to install just 1 game? The rumours about a "400" hour story are also laughable. By the time someone creates such a long story, the PlayStation 7 will have already been released. In the biggest games, the story lasts a maximum of 70 hours, and here someone is talking about 400.

Before that, there were rumours that the price of the game was $150, and some people picked up on that too. Grant Taylor-Gill noted that this statement was made without any reliable source or additional context. It is worth noting here that AAA games on consoles cost $70 (standard edition), and no one is going to change this figure now.

There were also "fantasists" who said that GTA 6 would have one of the largest maps in the history of games, combining San Andreas, Liberty City, Vice City and everything else imaginable. Again, no one will create such a giant world, because it will take many, many years and resources.

But Grant explains that these leaks are happening because people are desperate for news about GTA 6, and fake content is becoming increasingly difficult to recognise, especially when it's spread by fake "GTA 6 Insights" channels on Twitter, TikTok, or YouTube.

Therefore, it is important to look at the source of such news or simply wait for information from Rockstar.
