CD Projekt Red is ending active support for Cyberpunk 2077 and will soon begin development on a new game
Cyberpunk 2077 was released in 2020, and for almost three years the developers at CD Projekt Red have worked tirelessly to improve the technical state of the game and expand its content.
During that time, numerous updates have been released, including the massive Update 2.0, and the major story update Phantom Liberty. This is the end of the Polish company's support for Cyberpunk 2077 - said the game director of Cyberpunk 2077 Gabe Amatangelo.
Here's What We Know
In an interview with PCgamer, Amatangelo said that his team will soon make the last edits to Cyberpunk 2077 and introduce small innovations to the game that were planned earlier. After that, the active support for the game will end, and the game designers will start working on a new game in the Cyberpunk universe with the codename Orion.
Recall that 350-500 people will be involved in the creation of Project Orion, for which CD Projekt Red will open a new division in Boston (USA) CD Projekt Red North America, and support for game designers will be provided by colleagues from Warsaw and Vancouver. Active work on the game will start in 2024.
