CD Projekt Red employees create PGWU trade union to protect the interests of all employees of the Polish gaming industry

CD Projekt Red has created the Polish Game Dev Workers Union (PGWU), a trade union for video game developers, which is open to all employees of the Polish games industry, not just people from CDPR.

Here's What We Know

CD Projekt developers started thinking about the PGWU when 100 studio employees were laid off in 2023. The founders of the union say that this event created a huge level of stress and insecurity, which affected mental health and led to the creation of this union in response. Having a union means more security, transparency, better protection and a stronger voice in times of crisis.

The union will be fully operational in December 2023. The PGWU will be able to provide legal support to members, help during mass layoffs and ensure that workers' voices count for a lot in the future.
