Rumours: New Game+ mode will add a new ending to Alan Wake 2, and one of the add-ons will further unite the game with the rest of the Remedy universe
Even before the release of Alan Wake 2, it was known that the game would receive two paid story add-ons and the New Game+ mode. Now, dataminers have been able to get more information about all of this.
Here's What We Know
Dataminers have learned that the New Game+ mode, in addition to allowing you to play the game with all unlocked weapons, upgrades, and new pages of manuscript and video content, will also add a completely new ending, so it is likely that you will have to play AW 2 in this mode to understand the story better.
Other information indicates that one of the add-ons may further unite the game with the rest of the Remedy universe. The footage showed Dr Darling, a minor character in Control, a 2019 Remedy game that is already mentioned in Alan Wake 2.
The first Night Springs expansion pack is due to be released in late spring 2024, although Remedy noted that the release window is subject to change. The second expansion, Lake House, does not yet have an estimated release date.
All the data appeared on Reddit, but we will not link to these materials.
