Low scores and gamer outrage didn't stop Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023) from topping the Steam sales chart

Over the last week there have been major changes in the Steam sales chart and almost every position deserves a separate comment.

Here's What We Know

Despite the barrage of criticism Call of Duty:Modern Warfare III (2023), which is officially recognised as the worst game of the series, became the most profitable game of the week, overtaking even the invariable leader Counter-Strike!

Steam Deck handheld console returned to the second position in the top 10, probably due to the announcement of a new model with OLED-screen and discounts on old versions of the device.

The third place was taken by a new game Risk of Rain Returns - a co-operative roguelike in a minimalistic style and with dynamic gameplay.

Baldur's Gate 3 holds in the top five and takes the fourth place.

Let's also note the successful release of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. The game received excellent reviews and started from the eighth place in the Steam chart.

The re-release of the cult strategy game Stronghold fell a bit short of the top 10. It was warmly welcomed by the public, and sales reached 100 thousand copies in just three days.
