Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be the longest game in the Yakuza franchise. Studio head Ryu Ga Gotoku warned that it would not be possible to complete it in two evenings
The head of Ryu Ga Gotoku studio Masayoshi Yokoyama reported interesting information about the new game Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which, by the way, is a nominee of The Game Awards in the category "Most Anticipated New Products of 2024".
Here's What We Know
The head of Japanese developers said that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be the longest part of the franchise, previously released under the Yakuza brand.
Masaesi Yekoyama in an interview with the Japanese portal Game Watch said that the studio's game designers put a huge amount of effort into creating high-quality, exciting and diverse content, which should encourage players to spend dozens of hours in Infinite Wealth.
"It's not possible to get through the game in one or two evenings," said the head of Ryu Ga Gotoku, but he fears that players, recognising the game's long duration, may refuse to buy it.
For comparison, the passage of Yakuza: Like a Dragon could take more than 50 hours, and the average game of this series required 20-30 hours of passing.
The two main characters of the game will be Ichiban Kasuga - protagonist of the last part, and familiar to fans of the franchise Kazuma Kiryu, who failed to stop with a life of crime.
In Infinite Wealth, players will find themselves not only in Japan, but also in Hawaii, where Ichiban will go in search of his mother.
When We Can Expect It
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will release on 26 January 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
