Jason Schreier: work on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still in progress

In November, journalist Jeff Grubb announced on his podcast that no one was developing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake was no longer being developed. However, Jason Schreier disagreed with this statement.

Here's What We Know

Schreier wrote that he could not say whether Knights of the Old Republic remake will ever be released, but two people from Sabre Interactive told him that they are still working on the game.

As a reminder, the game was originally developed by Aspyr Media, but Embracer Group handed the project over to Saber Interactive. Why was the remake taken away from Aspyr? Schreyer said that the demo shown by the studio was not bad. The bigger issue was the disagreement between all parties about the scope and how much progress the studio could make within the given timeframe.

Embracer Group refuses to comment on the situation around the remake and did not even mention the game in its recent quarterly report. So even though there are rumours that the game is still being made, there is little optimism.
