A beautiful game with banal gameplay: critics have had a mixed reception to Ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
On the eve of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora release, journalists of the world's leading gaming portals shared their opinion about the new Ubisoft game.
Here's What We Know
Many experts assumed that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora would be a secondary game that would be branded as "Far Cry on Pandora". The first reviews showed that this judgement is mostly correct.
Journalists praised the visual style of the game: the landscapes of the alien world from Ubisoft's game designers are only admirable. The views of Pandora are mesmerising, the flora and fauna of the planet look unusual and vivid, and the atmosphere fully corresponds to the films of James Cameron.
However, reviews about gameplay leave much to be desired. It is neither bad nor good, it is absolutely identical to all Far Cry games, which increases the feeling of banality and secondary nature of the game. As in Far Cry, players can decide how to deal with enemies and what locations to visit, but because of the large number of boring additional activities, not all gamers will want to explore the world of Pandora.
The plot also turned out to be quite standard. It has a few bright moments, but most episodes are predictable and do not cause excitement.
Evaluations on aggregators fully reflect the opinion of critics about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (available only for PC-version):

- Metacritic: 74 points.
