Square Enix encourages players to use SSDs to get through the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI

The PC version of Final Fantasy XVI will be released in 2024.

This is one of the most technologically advanced games for the PlayStation 5, so many gamers were wondering how Square Enix plans to optimise it for the huge variety of computers.

Final Fantasy XVI developers gave a comprehensive answer in an interview with PC Gamer.

Here's What We Know

Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida said that Square Enix is not ready to announce the system requirements for the game, but gamers are already being urged to equip their computers with an SSD drive.

On PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy XVI had almost no loading screen at all: locations loaded either instantly or during exciting staged scenes without the player noticing the process. A regular hard drive won't cope with such a task and the game will become much less impressive due to long loading screens, hence the only way out is SSD.

Let us remind you that a few days ago the first paid add-on Echoes of the Fallen was released for Final Fantasy XVI. The second DLC called The Rising Tide will be released in spring 2024.
