The remaster of the cult shooter Star Wars: Dark Forces will get full Steam Deck compatibility from day one after release
In a month's time the release of the remaster of the cult shooter Star Wars: Dark Forces, which was released in 1995, will take place.
The game will be available on PC and two generations of consoles, but, as it turned out, the developers from Nightdive Studios took care of support for one more platform.
Here's What We Know
On the Steam page of the updated version of Star Wars: Dark Forces, a marking has been spotted, which informs that the game is fully compatible with Steam Deck, and its performance on the portable console has been verified by Valve and Nightdive Studios engineers.
The Dark Forces remaster will offer players:
- 14 original Dark Forces levels;
- up to 120 FPS at 4K resolution;
- enhanced lighting and atmospheric effects thanks to improved 3D rendering;
- full support for gamepads and their unique features (vibration, gyroscope, tactile feedback).
In Star Wars: Dark Forces, in addition to dynamic firefights with the Galactic Empire troops, players will have to solve a number of simple, but exciting puzzles.
When We Can Expect It
The updated version of the famous game will be released on February 28, 2024 - 29 years after the release of the original version.
Star Wars: Dark Forces will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
