Supposedly FromSoftware has begun final testing of the Shadow of the Erdtree add-on for Elden Ring
The Shadow of the Erdtree add-on for Elden Ring is a strange situation: everyone knows it's coming, but the developers from FromSoftware are stubbornly silent.
Since the The Path of the Tarnished isn't over yet! FromSoftware has officially announced the first add-on for Elden Ring called Shadow of the Erdtree, the Japanese developers have shared absolutely no information about it, but over the last month several independent sources have indirectly confirmed that Shadow of the Erdtree will be released in February 2024.
Perhaps dataminers have discovered another confirmation.
Here's What We Know
It turned out that FromSoftware added a new branch of code to the Steam version of Elden Ring, not intended for public access. Usually such files appear in the database when developers are preparing for the release of updates or add-ons and testing new content.
Probably, that's what FromSoftware's game designers are doing at the moment - making sure that Shadow of the Erdtree is ready. If so - it may indeed be released in the near future.
Recall, Elden Ring was released on 24 February 2022 and the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree add-on may be timed to coincide with the game's two-year anniversary.
