Capcom has updated sales figures for its "platinum" games.
Here's What We Know
As of 31 December 2023, sales of the Resident Evil franchise stood at 154 million copies, up 4 million from 30 September.
The most popular games in the series are:
- Resident Evil 4 remake - 1 million people have bought it in 3 months, with cumulative sales (since March 2023) totalling 6.4 million copies;
- Resident Evil 2 remake - 500 thousand copies sold in 3 months, totalling 13.6 million since 2019;
- Resident Evil Village - 600k copies in three months and 9.3 million copies sold since release in 2021.
According to fresh information, Street Fighter 6 sales have already surpassed 3 million copies, but as of 31 December, the figure was 2.9 million copies. From September to December, 500 thousand copies of the fighting game were sold.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne circulation reached 11.6 million copies, and for 3 months the game was bought by 900 thousand people.
Capcom's most successful franchises:
- Dragon's Dogma - 8.4 million (+500 thousand in 3 months);
- Monster Hunter - 97 million (+2 million for 3 months);
- Street Fighter - 53 million (+1 million in 3 months);
- Resident Evil - 154 million (+4 million in 3 months);
- Ghost n' Goblins - 4.5 million (+100k in 3 months).
