The creator of Elden Ring doesn't rule out a second instalment of the game, but FromSoftware has no such plans for now

After the release of the first trailer of Shadow of the Ertree expansion for Elden Ring, FromSoftware's head and creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki received a lot of questions from the media.

Earlier in a big interview with Eurogamer Miyazaki revealed the first details of Shadow of the Ertree expansion and commented on the possibility of Bloodborne remake.

And in an interview with IGN portal he was asked about the Japanese studio's plans for the near future of Elden Ring.

Here's What We Know

IGN journalists asked whether Elden Ring fans should expect a sequel or a second addition to the game. The game designer replied that there are no such plans yet, but they may appear in the future.

We don't want to say that this is the end of the Elden Ring saga. This is the same approach we are taking towards the Dark Souls series after the release of Dark Souls 3. Even if we have no plans now, new ideas may appear in the future, so there is no sense to declare the final end of the franchise and deprive ourselves of the opportunity to return to it.

Elden Ring was FromSoftware's most successful game, selling over 23 million copies, winning a record number of awards and becoming a real revolution in the souls-like genre.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on 21 June on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).

Pre-order is already open.
