It's not just Microsoft: an insider revealed that Nintendo and Sony will be holding their own shows in the near future

Yesterday, Microsoft officially announced Xbox Developer_Direct, the first game show of 2024. It will take place on the 18th of January and will cover at least four anticipated projects: adventure action game Indiana Jones from MachineGames, role-playing game Avowed from Obsidian, historical strategy game Ara: History Untold and ambitious action game Senua's Saga: Hellblade II from Ninja Theory.

However, gamers can expect two more significant shows in the near future.

Here's What We Know

On the Giant Bomb podcast, authoritative journalist and insider Jeff Grubb revealed that Microsoft's main competitors are also preparing their own shows.

According to his information, the Xbox Developer_Direct will be followed shortly by a new edition of Nintendo's regular Nintendo Direct show, and Sony's State of Play should be expected "within the next few weeks".

According to Grubb's information, State of Play will focus on two games - Team Ninja's action game Rise of the Ronin and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.

Grubb's information looks completely realistic, as the Japanese developers have several major releases planned for the coming months. Sony will have Helldivers II, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and a remake of Silent Hill 2. And Nintendo plans to delight gamers with Another Code: Recollection, Princess Peach: Showtime!, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and a remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In addition, a new console from Nintendo is expected to be released as early as this year.
