The famous snowboarding mini-game will not return to Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
Without a doubt, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is one of the most anticipated titles for PlayStation 5, and while most of its additional content will be character and story-related, there will certainly be a fair amount of mini-games for players to play.
Here's What We Know
In a recent brief interview with Game Informer, director Naoki Hamaguchi was asked about some of the mini-games and he did share some details: first, Hamaguchi confirmed that the snowboarding mini-game from the original Final Fantasy VII will not be returning, so don't look for it at the Icicle Inn or Gold Saucer.
One of the mini-games that will appear will be CPR, although it won't be the way you remember it, as Hamaguchi himself said: "We changed it slightly, so please stay tuned."
During the interview, Hamaguchi also revealed that the new card game Queen's Blood is his favourite minigame in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. Meanwhile, when asked about which mini-game in the action RPG was the most improved over its original version, Hamaguchi mentioned the chocobo races: "We’ve adapted the chocobo race into a very modern racing game, so that’s quite a big difference from the original".
Where To Play
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will be available on PlayStation 5 only.
When We Can Expect It
The game will be released on the 29th of February 2024.
