It's official: Mads Mikkelsen will not return to the role of Cliff Unger in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Captain Cliff Unger, played by the famous actor Mads Mikkelsen, was one of the stars of Death Stranding and from the first trailers he attracted a lot of attention, and in the game his line was one of the central ones.
Of course, after the official announcement and the recent reveal of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach extended trailer, many fans expressed hope that Cliff Unger will return in the sequel.
Here's What We Know
Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima tweeted that he knows about fans' desire to see Cliff Unger and said that "Mads Mikkelsen is not involved in the sequel" ©.

As a reminder, US Army Special Forces Captain Cliff Unger has completed his mission to find his son in Death Stranding and has found peace. His story is over and doesn't need to be continued.
When We Can Expect It
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released in 2025 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
