Players in Fantasy 7 Rebirth will not see Vincent or Sid in battle, - says the game's director
In addition to the return of the entire main cast of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, its upcoming sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, is also set to add new party members in the form of Red XIII (who appeared as an AI-controlled companion at the end of the previous game) and Cait Sith, although not all of the major new characters that are introduced are going to join the main group in battle.
What we know.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi told IGN that Vincent and Sith will accompany the party, contributing to the story and helping in various scenarios, but they will not be actively involved in combat. The game will delve deeper into their individual stories through special side quests, giving players more information about these characters.
Despite their limited role in the sequel, Hamaguchi hinted that Vincent and Sid may become playable characters in the third and final instalment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. He stressed the need to save surprises and new experiences for players in the upcoming game.
Where To Play
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is scheduled for release on February 29 for PlayStation 5.
