Looking for a soundbar for my westinghouse tv

Hi! I recently got a 55" Westinghouse TV on sale, and while the picture is great, the sound leaves a lot to be desired. I'm looking for a soundbar to improve my viewing experience without spending a fortune. I'm looking to spend no more than $300, but I'd love to keep it under that if possible.

I've been browsing options on Amazon, but I'm not sure what would be compatible with my Westinghouse TV. Anyone have experience pairing a soundbar with a Westinghouse?

I'm mainly watching movies and TV shows, with some occasional gaming. I'd love something with clear dialogue and decent bass, if possible. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I use the Bose TV Speaker, and it's been fantastic. Great dialogue clarity, and it has a "bass enhancement" feature that helps compensate for the lack of a separate sub. Definitely worth considering!

Before you buy anything, check if your TV has an optical output. Some Westinghouse models only have that, no HDMI ARC. If that's the case, make sure whatever soundbar you get has an optical input.

Congrats on the new TV! I'd recommend checking out the polk audio signa s2. It works great with westinghouse TVs and falls within your budget. The wireless subwoofer really adds some nice depth to movies.

Soundbars, huh? Living life on the edge, I see! ;) Just kidding. But have you considered powered bookshelf speakers? For $300, you could get some real beauties. Might be worth a look if you're feeling adventurous!

Have you considered going for a used higher-end soundbar instead of a new budget one? You might get better sound for your money. I picked up a second-hand Sony for about $250, and it blows away most new bars in that price range.

Ah, living dangerously, are we? xD Just teasing! Might want to stick with new for the warranty. Nothing kills movie night like a DOA soundbar!

Hey, before you make a decision, check out AVSForum.com. Those folks are audio nuts (in a good way!) and have some great threads comparing soundbars at different price points. Might help you find a hidden gem!

Love the enthusiasm, but not everyone's ready to build a home theater! ;) don't worry - a good soundbar will still be a massive upgrade. Sometimes simple is best, especially when you're just starting out!

Separate subwoofer might shake walls in apartment. Stick to 2.0 if you got neighbors above
