What's the best speaker for office use?

Hey folks, need some advice on the best speaker for our office. My boss just gave me the green light to upgrade our sound system, but I'm totally lost. We're a small marketing agency, open floor plan, about 20 people.

Looking for something that can provide decent background music during the day and maybe kick it up a notch for our Friday afternoon wind-downs. Wireless would be great to avoid cable clutter. Budget is flexible, but let's not go crazy - we're not a record studio! :)

Any recs for office-appropriate speakers that won't break the bank or annoy the heck out of my coworkers? Bonus points if they look sleek - we're all about that modern vibe here.

Thanks in advance for saving me from a potential office audio disaster!

Check out the Sonos One. It's compact, looks great, and punches above its weight in terms of sound quality. Plus, it's smart and can be easily expanded into a multi-room system if needed.

Office speakers? Just get a bunch of kazoos and hand them out to everyone. Instant office orchestra! xDD But seriously, the marshall stanmore 2 could be perfect. Looks cool (very on-brand for a marketing agency), sounds great, and has Bluetooth.

Kazoos? That's so last century! =)) I've had great experiences with the Bose SoundLink Revolve+. It's portable, has 360-degree sound which is great for open spaces, and the battery life is impressive. Plus, you can easily move it for those Friday wind-downs.

Before you buy anything, think about sound distribution. One central system might not cut it for an open floor plan. You might want to look into multiple smaller speakers placed strategically around the office.

makes a good point about distribution. Don't forget about potential noise complaints from neighboring offices. Maybe look into speakers with a more focused sound field. That way you can enjoy your tunes without bothering others.

Whatever you choose, make sure it has good volume control and maybe an auto-off feature. Nothing worse than coming in Monday morning to speakers blasting Friday's party playlist! :)

Pro tip: whatever system you choose, set up a shared playlist where everyone can contribute. Keeps things fresh and gives everyone a sense of ownership in the office vibe. Just make sure to establish some ground rules first!

Before making a decision, check out the article "Speakers for Business" on Crutchfield. They cover important factors like room acoustics and connectivity options. It really helped me when I was setting up our office system.
