What's the best floating speaker for pool parties?

Just moved into a place with a pool and I'm looking to get a waterproof speaker for summer parties. I'm pretty new to this whole outdoor audio thing, so I could use some advice.

The pool is about 10x20 feet, and the whole area including the patio is roughly 400 square feet. I want something that can handle being around water, has good sound to cover that space, and won't die after an hour. Bluetooth is a must.

What do you guys use for your pool parties? Any features I should keep an eye out for? I've heard mixed things about some brands, so I'm open to your experiences.

Excited to hear your thoughts! Can't wait to get this pool party season started right.

Welcome to the world of pool parties! Make sure to get a speaker that's fully waterproof, not just water-resistant. You'll want something that can handle accidental dunks, not just splashes.

Good advice! present, also look for a speaker that floats. Trust me, you don't want to start a new Olympic diving event: "Speaker Retrieval"!

I've been using the JBL Flip 5 for a while now. It's pretty solid and has good sound quality for its size. The battery life is decent too, lasts through most of our pool days.

present whatever you get, make sure it's easy to use. Look for simple, clearly marked controls. It's frustrating trying to change tracks or adjust volume with wet hands on a complicated interface.

Has anyone tried those speakers with built-in lights? Thinking it might be fun for night swims. Any recommendations?
