Need advice on portable speakers for ipod touch (6th gen)

Hey all! I know I might be behind the times, but I'm still happily using my iPod Touch (6th generation). It's been my go-to music player for years, and I'm not ready to jump on the smartphone streaming bandwagon.

My old portable iPod speaker recently died, so I'm in the market for a new one. I'm looking for an external speaker for my iPod that has good sound quality and is portable enough for weekend hikes or trips to the park.

I know the iPod Touch has Bluetooth, but I'm also open to speakers with a regular aux input. Battery life is crucial too, since I enjoy marathon listening sessions.

Any recommendations for a solid portable speaker for iPod that'll do justice to my carefully curated iTunes library? Should I stick with a dedicated iPod speaker system, or is it time to consider upgrading my whole setup?

If you go for a Bluetooth speaker, make sure it supports the audio codec your iPod uses. Some older devices don't play nice with newer codecs like aptX or AAC.

Nice to see another iPod user! I'd say go for something with Bluetooth, way more convenient. Just make sure your iPod's battery can handle it - mine started draining like crazy when I used Bluetooth a lot.

Dude, I feel you. Ditched my iPod last year and kinda miss it. Anyways, I got the JBL Flip 6 recently, it's pretty sweet. Good sound, long battery, and it's tough - dropped mine in a puddle and it kept on playing lol.

iPod Touch in 2024? Respect, man. Why not just use your phone tho?

Check out the soundcore 2. Cheap but decent. Had mine for like 2 years, still going strong.

Before you buy any portable speakers for iPod, check out "8 things to consider before buying a Bluetooth speaker" on whathifi. Really helped me narrow down my choices.
