What's the best rc glider for a beginner with some cash to burn?
Just got a fat bonus at work and thinking of treating myself to an RC glider. Always wanted to try it out but never pulled the trigger. Looking for something that won't fall apart on the first flight but also won't require a PhD to fly. Any suggestions? Budget's flexible but let's not go crazy. Also, any tips for a newbie? Stuff you wish you knew when you started?
Cheers!
Nice one on the bonus! For your first rc glider, look for something with "trainer" in the name. They're usually more forgiving and can take a beating. Electric is the way to go for beginners - way less hassle than nitro.
If you've got the cash, the Volantex ASW28 is pretty sweet. It's a step up from beginner models, but not so advanced that you'll crash it immediately. Good to grow into.
before you even think about real flying, get a sim. Way cheaper to crash virtually than to rebuild your glider every other flight.
Check out the hobbyzone carbon cub s 2. Solid beginner RC glider plane. Easy to fly but still fun when you get better. Thank me later.
Hold up, we just glossing over the "fat bonus" part? Forget RC, I've got some magic beans that'll double your money! xD
Don't skimp on batteries if you go electric. Cheap ones are a fire hazard. LiPos aren't something to mess around with.
