Are iPhone projectors actually worth it in 2025??

Ok so I've been thinking about getting one of those small projectors for my iPhone 16 Pro but like... do they actually work? Everyone's showing these perfect dark room setups on YouTube but what about real life?

Looked at Nebula Capsule 3 but $800?! bruh
XGIMI looks decent but still $$ πŸ€”

Anyone here using these regularly or just collecting dust after a month?

Here's what nobody mentions about these small projectors - you need a good screen or white wall. Otherwise the image quality suffers badly, no matter how expensive your pocket projector is

Got the MoGo 2 Pro last month. NGL pretty solid for what it is! Using it like 2-3 times a week for movie nights πŸ“½οΈ Just don't expect home theater quality lol

how's battery life tho? And does it get hot?

Flash Feb. 9, 2025, 10:25 a.m.

Like 2.5h max πŸ”‹ Gets warm but not crazy hot. Def keep charger nearby for longer movies

What's ANSI lumens? All these mini projectors list different brightness numbers...

kat2 Feb. 11, 2025, 7:44 a.m.

ANSI is the standard measure of brightness. Many portable projectors advertise LED lumens which can be misleading - they're usually 3-4x higher than actual ANSI numbers

okv Feb. 5, 2025, 10:21 p.m.

Unpopular opinion: these portable projectors are still not there yet. Either save up for a proper home theater projector or stick to your TV

Nebula Capsule 3 owner here. Yes it's $$$$ but the portability is insane. Perfect for my tiny apartment. But yeah you need almost complete darkness fr fr

HGHG Feb. 12, 2025, 4:46 p.m.

just use your phone bro, same thing but smaller lmao

khmm Feb. 13, 2025, 3:28 p.m.

Wait so like... what's the actual difference between $200 and $800 ones? πŸ€”

Jenne Feb. 15, 2025, 11:30 p.m.

Cheap ones lie about everything fam πŸ’€

  • Fake brightness numbers
  • Garbage resolution
  • Die after 3 months

Don't waste ur money

McNaher Feb. 16, 2025, 1:31 p.m.

Hot take: these are cool but like... a decent TV is still better for 90% of people tbh πŸ“Ί

ppaltair Feb. 18, 2025, 4:31 p.m.

Anyone tried those $150 Amazon ones? Like I know they prob trash but... maybe? πŸ‘€

VipAll Feb. 20, 2025, 9:32 a.m.

Don't do it bro πŸ™…‍♂️ Save up for at least ViewSonic if you're on budget. Those Amazon specials are straight garbage no cap

lol222 Feb. 22, 2025, 4:53 p.m.

Digital nomad here! Been using XGIMI for presentations in cafes and stuff. Works perfect for my lifestyle πŸ’» Just don't expect miracles in bright rooms lol

video-shoper Feb. 27, 2025, 6:16 p.m.

My Nebula died after 6 months. Customer service was good though, got a replacement quick

Been testing projectors for my tech blog. Quick tips for iPhone users:

  1. Make sure it has native AirPlay
  2. Check the ANSI lumens (not LED)
  3. Consider throw distance for your space
  4. Battery life is usually 30% less than advertised

sentimat March 10, 2025, 8:38 p.m.

Does it work well in slightly lit rooms? My apartment isn't completely dark

Octavio March 13, 2025, 1:39 p.m.

You'll need almost complete darkness for best results. Even the 300 ANSI isn't enough for daylight viewing

boba March 26, 2025, 9:40 p.m.

Why are these micro projectors still so expensive in 2025?! πŸ’€

wikky April 3, 2025, 7:05 p.m.

The new portable Anker is amazing with iPhone - expensive but worth every penny for the size
